Assignments for April 29

Create wireframes for your chosen concept and post them to the blog before class. You will be presenting them for discussion in class.

I’d suggest starting with iPhone wires and then considering how your app map and individual screen content might be different on the iPad. Depending on your app, it will likely be appropriate to have a complete set of iPhone and iPad wires.

Mobile Media: app ideas

HHT: Historic House Trust

Design an app too allow people to present handicap and accessibility flaws in local historic housing on every social network with one click. The app would be accesible for the hearing and visually impaired users.

Amira and Michael’s Ideas

Bizarre Eats Game

People think that a lot of foods are “weird.” To push people out of their boundaries, we would make a mobile game where people compete against their friends to eat the weirdest thing. Would need to somehow find a way to appeal to people who aren’t interested in trying new things.

Digital Geocaching ( A Treasure Hunting Game )

Players search for interesting geocaches that “hold” digital objects using the application. When the cache is found they can take the object and replace with something of their own.( 1. Find the cache 2.Sign the logbook 3. Replace or add the Cache )

Options: Play with friends  or Play with Strangers

Mani & Juan – Final App Idea – The Report

We are both interested in making an app that has no real purpose. We want it to look cool, and to tap in to as much passive data collection as possible because we both are quantified selves. So we are taking our inspiration from Nicholas Feltron and his annual reports.

http://feltron.com/

So the basic idea is that users will download an app, and then input information on their various social media outlets (FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and then let the phone start grabbing all that information and begin a data visualization on the website that will show that info in a visually striking way.

project ideas

1. thatthey – an iPad game.

UI design for my thesis in collaboration with Paul Cheng.
The game is focused on local multiplayer context and tablet devices. As gestural two player game, player have to hold the same device at the same time to play the game.

The chance to do this project for this class would also be a chance to design UI for future proposal in online/wireless multiplayer context for phone/small touch screen devices.

2. parti – Internet of party app

PARTIes
PARTIcles
PARTIcipatory

UI design for my collaboration with Qiuyi Wu for AVsys and Sensemaker class finals.
PARTI is a participatory mobile data collection app for audio/visual performance in context of party and concert.

The app collect and feed user’s movement track by device’s accelerometer to the server (we are using Cosm for prototyping, server-side application might require for more powerful and realtime system.) The data would then parse live by VJ/performer to make a live visual that react to participant’s movement. Each individual would be represented as a particles on the environment. VJ would have a chance to perform a visual piece live with live feed data from participant by conduct how the data.

After the event, the data collected then can be playback in the web interface. You can see how dynamic the event was and how the audience was moved by the performance, literrally 🙂

3. sdub – listening device

Sdub is a sonic frameworks for ‘listening to’ data. The app allow user to access different data available on the internet and locally on the device and allow the user to make a composition of how the data and audio should interact.

This project was my final project for Major Studio 2. more info: interactivity.tothong.com
