Phoebe Tseng-week 1
BIO:
- I am a rising senior at Parsons for undergrad studying Industrial Design and minoring in Communication Design. I am currently taking these classes because I wish to transition to digital product design.
Things I didn’t know from HIG:
- they encouraged following top down layouts
- they specifically emphasized different ways of keeping people’s attention when things are loading
- I feel like this is probably common sense(?) but
- Keep modal task simple and short + always have a button to dismiss the modal
- I didn’t know shaking initiates undo or redo
Summarized app content
- I am creating a photography and pure visual based platform for food photographers and foodies to find what to eat based on how good it looks.

When you upload a post, what can you say about the dish? Can you post multiple dishes? Are you encouraging each post to be just one dish or about one restaurant? Can you rate or somehow indicate it’s a special version of this dish?
I wouldn’t worry too much about this, but can you imagine nay particular ways to hook your users to use this app to both post and search food versus competitors (e.g. Instagram, Foursquare).
How do you build community? How will you encourage new users to follow folks they know and also experts that will make their experience more enjoyable?
