3 things I learned
3 things I learnt from prototyping:
1. It was important to consider the user journey and the particular task a user was trying to achieve. Doing so revealed a lot of important improvements, some small some large. (e.g. some users weren’t clear on how to add your own review, the plus sign wasn’t always clear to people that this was how that was done).
2. Prototyping also revealed flaws in the navigation as it showed where users got confused and things were too complex, and challenged the assumptions I had made while wire framing. (e.g. It wasn’t clear to some what the app did, is it a social ranking? Added home screen with more social element.)
3. It showed which elements of the navigation were disregarded or ignored by the user. These elements could be downplayed so that the more useful and core functions could be highlighted or more accessible. (e.g. Confusion as to what the list in the ranking is, ‘is this the ranking made by you and your group?’)
