Farevaag: Week 03/04 – Prototype Results
Prototyping Local Fare was a very insightful, it was tough watching a user go through the app and not be able to assist and help them along the way.
Feedback from Prototype: Interactivity of prototype led to a poor experience. The “x” or “back” button did not work, also settings and next weeks menu had not been built out.
Onboarding: The initial screen needs to have the name and brief summary of the app. Right now the first screen says “Simple” with a brief message and that was confusing. Consider limiting the number of On-Boarding screens.
Login: Remove login barrier, it impedes progress. It was suggested that the login screen could be combined with the checkout process thus removing a barrier from the front of the app.
Navigation:
- Hot / Cold as categories are not needed because of the limited lunch selections, it was suggested that these should be combined as a simple list.
- Restaurants could be removed from bottom navigation, infact the restaurants screen could be combined with “this weeks” menu, as a heading bar.
- This weeks menu becomes the default screen.
- Bottom nav is replaced by “day of the week” quick check selector, allowing users to quickly update what they are ordering for each day.
Additionally this led to a dramatic rework of the App Map, Rnd 03. I think in this revision I was able to correct the numbering issues that plagued me in the previous versions.
Any and all feedback is really appreciated. Thank you.
