Hi, I’m Yueying. I’m currently a graduate student in The University of Texas at Austin, my focus is HCI. I got my BA degree in Advertising and had a very brief work experience as a visual design intern. I love the Beatles and retro stuff.

Things I didn’t know about iOS 7:
• The consistency of motion design
I used to like those cool motion effects on Dribbble/Behance but those are hardly a whole interaction process in consist. Also, I learned that sometimes users find motion effects confusing and disturbing.
• 3D Touch
I hardly use this function and I haven’t seen many design pieces about it. Now I know more and I think it definitely worth exploring.
• Live Photos
I never know I can press on a live photo and see a short video… I used to think live photo means when you slide to it, it can be motional for few seconds. This is really fun but sometimes I don’t want my photos to be live… my friend once asked me how to turn off live photo, after reading this guideline, I still don’t know.

I want to design an app for people who newly start to cook or people who are not talented/interested in cooking but have to cook for some reason. I (temporary) call it “easy&yum”. It will use video tutorials to show people how to make tasty food without making any mistake. (Many of my friends told me videos can be very helpful when you can’t cook so I want this app to be video driving.)
