Mingxi’s Work
Hi everyone, I am Mingxi. I am a rising senior from University of Wisconsin, Madison. I have great interest in indie music and have my rock band.
Here are some questions I have for guidelines:
- In Sliders in Controls of IOS, it says that “If you need to provide volume control in your app, use a volume view” instead of using sliders. What is volume view?
- What is haptic feedback? I don’t feel much of the presence.
My app is a platform where people read and post drink recipes. Target users are people who want to make drinks and want to share how to make drinks.
Users can browse through hot recipes or four basic category to find what they like. They could also go to type in what they have and the app will return what they can make. They could add the ingredients of the drinks into their carts.
These are my Flowchart and Wireframe.
Thank you very much!

Your “Flowchart” is an app map. A flow can mean something different, so I’d suggest using the App Map term. The numbers in your app map don’t match your wires, which makes them hard to follow. There’s no “index” in the wires, for example.
We spoke about this in class, but it looks like you’re designing for iPhone X but not using iPhone X patterns. I’d suggest using them fully or designing for a different device for the class.
Many of your touchable elements and type are quite small. Test on device to make sure you can touch and read all items.
Why are the explore search and mix search different? They both seem to give similar results.
How do you add things to your shopping list? Breaking down the shopping list by recipe doesn’t seem very useful. If two different recipes call for mint, I jus tneed to buy mint once.
Shopping list also seems to be playing double duty as a favorites list. Maybe this should be separated out.
Hiding posting a recipe under profile seems problematic. Are all the recipes posted in the app from users? If so, you need to be encouraging users to constantly be posting recipes.
