Hello! I’m Mar and I’m a Designer. I’ve been in NYC for two years now but I’m from Mexico. I work on advertising and I’m really interested in Social Innovation. Before coming to the US I’ve studied a Masters on Research for Design and Innovation in Barcelona and I’m taking this course to be able to create better solutions or products.
Things I didn’t know from the iOS Human Interface Guidelines:
- Touch targets for interactive elements size minimum area of 44pt x 44pt for all controls.
- Text-size changes. People expect most apps to respond appropriately when they choose a different text size in Settings. To accommodate some text-size changes, you might need to adjust the layout.
App concept: who is your user and what are you doing for them. Recipe generator based on ingredients that you already have. For busy people without culinary creativity and conscious about food waste, health, and environment.

As we chatted about in class, you’ll probably have picked up a bunch seeing everyone’s presentations. Great job making an effort and getting your project started though.
Simplify getting your user going in your app. Try and make it where they can open up and see content that they can browse and filter if they wish to get more detail. I know you want to keep things simple, but how can you learn about the users and what items they usually have so that you can show them some featured or maybe even one recipe they might want without inputting any ingredients.
