Kerry Neale – Week 1
Hello! My name is technically Elisabeth but I’ve always gone by my middle name (Kerry) because my parents didn’t want my initials to be “KEN”. In other words, they’re cruel – please blame them for the confusion! I just graduated with my BDes in graphic design and I work at a studio that focuses on branding and print. I’m here to learn some stuff about interaction design because I basically know nothing. Also, I have the best dog everrrr.
Some things I didn’t know about the iOS Human Interface Guidelines are how detailed/specific it is, or what any of the specifications were. I didn’t know that they encourage the use of a single typeface, San Francisco, and next to no fonts. I also learned about the shake function, which I had no idea about (sigh).
For my project I am working on a travel meal planning app for people who have limited cookware/appliances available to them.

What’s the star represent on the map?
Having that overlaid map/list button might be awkward when over real content and hard to see, so watch that as you move to more detailed design.
The filter drop down is not touchable at its size and a drop down like that isn’t really an iOS pattern.
The size of the type on your recipe view is pretty small, so make sure to test on device to see if it’s readable.
It’s “list” more than “cart”, right?
Why does the rating matter? What does it do for the user?
