Prototyping Feedback:
1. Users need clear/generic labels.
2. Users prefer to browse snippets before picking an item to view.
3. Users like to sort by date.
Apple HIG Notes:
Things I didn’t know:
1. There is a preference for button placement when no other rules apply:
“Otherwise, launch a landscape-only app in the variant with the Home button on the right.” – Page 27
2. Borders are used only for text actions, specifically floating text actions:
“App Store uses a button border in a table row to emphasize the distinction between tapping the row to get more information and tapping the button to initiate a purchase” – Page 47
3. The recommended minimum amount of contrast between the background and the text is 50%:
“A rule of thumb is to start with a contrast of at least 50% between colors that need to be distinguishable.” – Page 52

Hey Azha,
Nice job having a very clear audience. Also, your ‘focus’ statement is very helpful and well stated.
I’m definitely all for hand drawn wires, but I think you’re going to want to take these to one more level of specificity.
We talked about this in class, but no need to include the app name/logo in the app, as the user had to tap the app icon and name on the home screen to get into the content.
Either the continuous scroll or the left/right flick could work fine for navigation, though I feel the left/right has more of an editorial feel to it.
I’m not really sure what the ‘call to action’ areas are. It’s pointing to the tab bar, but I’m not sure what the other tabs are.
It would be great to see an example of an essay/detail on a place even in wireframe stage. Does it feature lots of photos? What is all of the other content that I can view about that location? You’ll want to have a least one full one with placeholder content for prototyping this Saturday.
If an author is called out, can I tap their name and see all their articles?
Are you imagining each set of curated info as an issue, or will things continuously come out? How do I get to old issues or essays? Is there any level of searching if I want to look for what’s been covered on X restaurant?
I think much of this was discussed in class, but wanted to get it all down here as well.
