Hello!
I am Kess, a NYC based visual designer, originally from São Paulo. Something I’ve been really excited about lalety is the world cup.
HIG: Reading…
Three things I’ve never noticed before:
• All bar buttons are borderless.
• Bult-in apps use colors that look good at every tint on both dark and light backgrounds.
• App store doen’t ask users to log in until they decide to buy something.

Hey Kess,
We spoke pretty extensively in class, but I’ll just go through some thoughts here again.
Your new concept is definitely fun.
We talked about how since this is an app for tourists, it’d be available in multiple languages, which can be taken care of by iOS level language settings (as long as you’d include other translations, which you’d have elves to do.)
We talked about going in more of an ‘educational’ route, where you could be teaching about the X number of core dishes you should learn about and where to eat them.
If you go with a map based interface like you have now, I’d suggest using something slightly more standard, versus making your user understand where in the country they are. Especially for a tourist, they may not know the names of everything. Even if they know the name of the next city they’re going to, they may not know the state name or even where it’s actually located, so search seems natural.
This may be a rendering issue, but the type on your tab bar is pretty small and hard to read. When making your prototype, make sure that it is legible when it’s on your phone screen.
Since you didn’t wire out the other tabs of your current idea, I’m not totally sure what they are, but in your app map, you’re showing thing as successive versus as all top level tabs that you can switch between.
I think you had some tweaks you were imagining from our discussion, so keep going with those.
