Hyeona Lee – Week1
Hello, I’m Hyeona and I recently graduated with a BFA in graphic design from SCAD(Savannah College of Art and Design). Now I’m a freelance graphic designer who enjoys solving visual problems.
1. What I Learned from HIG:
– Each device has the recommended exact font size, icon size, and app size.
– Touch targets for interactive elements have to make a minimum size of 44pt x 44pt for all controls.
– Before setting the color of the app icon, we should apply it to various backgrounds of home screen colors and patterns. Because we do not know what home screen people would use, through multiple tests, we can determine the color brightness and tone. The Dark Mode should also be considered.
2. App Idea
App concept:
Sometimes, we forget what ingredients are in the refrigerator, so we repurchase the same ingredients, or we throw them away because they are expired. The App offers you recipe ideas and tracks what ingredients are in your refrigerator; thus, helping us not to waste anymore.
User:
People who don’t want to waste ingredients and who want to make easy and various dishes with what they have.

The difference between My Fridge and Search is unclear. Why do I use one over the other to find a recipe? Also, it seems like quite a bit of work to have to always choose the ingredients before being told a recipe. Perhaps being able to filter by one is nice, but I’d hope that the app would be smarter than me about knowing what ingredients might go together without me having to choose them.
How do I input the items in My Fridge? That process needs to be very easy
How can the app get smarter over time to recommend certain items to buy for my fridge, ones that would make better recipes or that I might be likely to like?
