Hello! App Map and Wireframes from Hang Week One
3 Things I didn’t know about HIG
1, In general, it’s best to give users one path to each screen.
2, Always provide an obvious and safe way to exit a modal task.
3, Don’t use a collection view when a table view is a better choice.
Hello guys, I am Hang Xu, a Philadelphia base designer. I am semi American, made in China and designed in US. Love car racing and spicy food.
App Name: Keep it fresh!
Concept:
I like to design a mobile app which tracks food expiration date stored in the refrigerator and gives reminders through phone or watch. Users are able to take a photo from camera or gallery and scan bar code for the expiration date. And setup reminder and get notification.

Consider showing content up front. Instead of just having actions, show me what I’ve got as soon as I open the app. Maybe I toggle or filter to get to refrigerator versus pantry, but give me something as soon as I open. It might be useful to see things that are expiring soon, especially.
Be careful about using lorem ipsum-y text like CTA even at this point. What would you want the action to be? Will the type necessary for that fit?
You have a very tab bar-y thing that appears in 3.1. If you have a tab bar, it should be there and visible on essentially all the views of your app. Something like 1.1 add, could be a modal that comes up from the bottom of the screen and covers everything else in the app, and so would cover up a tab bar if you have one.
On B2 search, can you tap on those results? If so, then they’ll need to be more spread out to be able to touch them. Remember the 44×44 rule.
I was thinking, and since you’re targeting families, it could be useful for more than one person to get the latest info. That could mean that they share a login, or if you get time later, you could consider allowing some type of group editing situation. That’s really the only reason for an account that I can see. Only consider this if you get everything else set.
