• Review the syllabus to understand class expectations and what we’re doing this semester.
• Read the Apple HIG or the Android Design Guidelines and post 3 things you didn’t know.
• Think up an app to make for Project 1. Your app should be for android phones or iPhones, and it needs to be about food.
• Create an app map and wireframe for your app. Group 1 will present. Each person will have about 10 minutes to present and get feedback.
• Both groups should create paper prototypes to test next week

From class today:

• Mobile Media 101-Spring 2016
• Omnigraffle
• Tips for getting wireframes out of Omnigraffle
• Graffletopia
• Kongi (in omnigraffle, but latest has android)

Class protocol things:

• Start posting #thursdayplays. You need to post at least one before midterm, and one between midterm and the end of the semester.
• Make your blog username your real name
• Your work only counts if it’s on the blog.

– Post anything on the blog that you haven’t posted yet, including your #thursdayplay/app posts. You won’t get credit if it’s not on the blog.

-Prepare another iteration of your final project with your partner and be prepared to present to critics. You will have 15 minutes for presentation and response.

• Group 2 will present designs for their final project
• Groups 1 & 2 should prototype
• When you post your design, post 3 things you learned from your paper prototyping
• Only two weeks left to post your #thursdayplays/apps

• Group 1 will bring in designs to present
• When you post your designs, list 3 things that you learned from your paper prototyping.
• Groups 1 and 2 should bring in digital prototypes to test

– Team two will present wireframes

– Teams one and two should do paper prototypes (don’t forget to record your learnings)

– Post your wireframes on the blog under just one team member, but mention the second team member so that you both get credit.

– Work with your partner to create wireframes

– Group 1 will present their wireframes

– Group 2 will paper prototype

Your project may be either a phone app or a tablet app and may be about any topic you’d like.

• Thursday plays: need post two by the end of the semester
• Prepare a design for you Apple Watch App and post it on the blog
• Post a few sentences about what you learned when prototyping
• (DT Jobs is on April 12–mention it to your studio or thesis classes)

– By end of the semester, post 2 Thursday plays/apps on the blog

– Go back and add paper and digital prototype learnings to project 1 post, if you didn’t do that.

– Bring a paper or digital prototype to test out your app.

***Remember, there will be no class on Mar 12***

Next week will be your final project 1 presentation. We’ll have two outside critics joining us, so let’s show them our best work!

Post a Flinto prototype, along with a sentence or two about what you learned from digital prototyping, to the blog before 5pm.

Hopefully the room projector will act nicely, and I’ll load all the prototypes on my phone for us to present from.

Also after next week, I will give you your midterm grades. If you have any assignments that you haven’t posted to the blog, they will not be counted.
