ProjectOne_“Restline”_Version4

User Insights:

  • If users want to wait for several restaurants, the app shouldn’t charge customers. (maybe from restaurants, but not customers)
  • Consider number of people in one party, which will determine how many tables in front of you.
  • The table icon of percentage seems very confusing.
  • The transition from line view to map view should be coherent with other transitions.

Marvel App Prototype

https://marvelapp.com/bj622f

From the next round of prototyping I got from the user testing was to think about the interactions that will occur when you begin to follow food critics. Once a person is followed what will then happen on the screen view? Perhaps their top 3 recommended reviews, or a list of their choices based on your user profile? Also the location based services could use more indicators of how the results will populate to the user view and how the filters will affects the results need to be displayed. Finally the account home profile page should act more as your own feed of bookmarks and list of recommendations by people you follow.

Spice It Up – More Iterations & Feedback

Another week, another iteration. This week I focused on bringing together more of the design elements of Hot or Not I had started mapping out during the last round of prototypes. Throughout this process of building the app, page by page from the wireframes, I also did a lot of user testing and made many changes to the flow and functionality.

Thursday Plays # Think (Game)

Think is a Visual puzzle game , where the player is asked to guess the word that the icons represents . This can be in a way called the virtual pictionary. This game has different chapters  like “Action” , ” Movie names” , “proverbs” etc. The difficulty level increases as the player progresses . The player gets access to 3 free hints to help them move forward in the game. This game has a very minimalist characteristics on design and strong visuals that engage the user.  Its a really engrossing game and got me hooked up for hours together . It was a free game when I initially downloaded it . You guys should really try this game.

GI – thursdayplay – penny

for the thursdayplay, I’m reviewing an app called “Penny”,
it’s a finance app that shows you how much money you spent and all that finance stuff by messaging. It’s more Interesting than “Mint”, mint just shows you statistics but “Penny” makes a conversation with you.

Go!Curry App Iteration 3

Go!Curry App: Iteration 3
Feedback from last class:

  • Removing unnecessary pages that interferes with minimizing the ease of user experience and the objective of increasing basket size and chances of checkout.
  • Log In / Sign Up should be moved for later in the consumer journey as 80% of their needs on the app should be met within the first couple of seconds.
  • Ease: Payment with Apple Pay
  • Gamification through points, app personality and animation
  • Icons should be clear and intuitive

#ThursdayPlays: NYTVR

NYTVR New York Times Virtual Reality

Experiencing news and stories in a new way. I always thought VR always required an extension medium, however I realized we could experience nytvr without the Google CardBoard viewer.

Without it, my experience of the story was enriching and very moving. I chose to hear about an Ebola survivor. I was taken to a beach. Text faded in and out, moving images fades to black to transition to another video. I had the ability to scale the video as well, so it was interesting to see how the images are stitched.

I would like to experience this story with the immersive Google CardBoard viewer. I’m quite dizzy after one story, so I could imagine how much more intense it would be with the viewer.
