Thursday Plays: 7M Workout

IMG_0650 IMG_0647 IMG_0649

7M Workout is an app that gives you workout exercises to do for 7 minutes.

I really like how the app is presented: a movement is explained vocally by a “coach” and visually by an athlete doing the movement. There is also a clock that tells you when to start and stop an exercise.
What I enjoy the most in this app is that it is very easy to use and really straightforward.
The thing I was a bit confused about was the “burger menu” that is on the top left (more a “circular menu”). It isn’t very clear that this is a button as we are not used to this kind of design for a button.

AstroMatch – Ning Sui + Ting Zhao

AppMap.001

This week, me and Ting decide to change our original idea to a new direction. Astro Match will be the final project in our team. It’s a dating app with filter based on astrological analysis. We have many classmates and friend who use dating app and also seek suggestion from astrology point of view. We think that what current dating app actually do is to have filters to help making meaningful selection from a large amount of people, and more and more people are asking astrological suggestions in private. We tend to combine the features of regular dating apps and astrology apps and to provide the astrological filter for a dating social platform. On the other hand, most astrological app, which only divide people into 12 kinds, doesn’t very accurate in most time. To improve the accuracy and meaningfulness of this filter, we will use birth chart API with algorithm from an astrologist. To not adding confusions to users, we decide to skip showing the birth chart visually, but show the compatibility between users directly.

Learnings from Paper Prototyping Messageo | Zeqing Hong & Galit Lurya

Some learnings we had from paper prototyping messageo

Received messages
1. How are the messages organized- by date? by location?
2. Is there a way to see these as a map view?
3. Add data and location information to each message in the list
4. Let people know they have messages so they know something is waiting for them- avoid disappointments for the people that send the messages

Specific message view
Add date message was received

New message
1. Is there a possibility to send one message to more than one person?
2. Check location of current location button

Sent Messages
In sent messages- add the status of the messages (read/unread)
