Feedback – iOS Human Interface Guidelines and the Android Design Guidelines

After reading iOS Human Interface Guidelines and the Android Design Guidelines, I easily understood the basics of UI design Knowledge.

Surprised
– Standard Gestures
What surprised me the most from the iOS Human Interface Guidelines and the Android Design Guidelines was the invention of Standard Gestures. I believe that the hand gesture is the best way for wide range of age groups to understand UI. When this is developed, even little kids will be able to easily use smartphone.
– Voice over
Voice over is very important and helpful to the people with disabilities. I heard many visually impaired people use iPhone. I think it can be a good example as a universal design.
Confused
First time Android users are having complications with Android’s keyboard since it doesn’t support different language like iPhone does. If elder people don’t read the guideline, I can see there can be some complications for them understanding how Android works.
Enlightened
After going through Android’s guideline, I noticed that they use icons that are unique and specific only to Android. When I used to design UI, I always tried to make icons similar to ones that are already being used.
