Gi – prototype1 (app map & wireframe) food art app

I designed “food art app”(I don’t have a name right now..)

the purpose of the app is to make food art into a hobby, so many people can join the community and make something fun to look at. There are lots of people ordering food and take pictures before they eat, so it looks like a piece of art. So I searched food art app, but there was no specific app that has a tutorial of making a food art. Also, normally people think it’s too hard to make the food into an art. So I want to focus on making a simple food art app that generates ideas to make a simple food art with everyday food materials.

  1. You should simplify your app map to only show the names of the different views in your app and their connections. You don’t need to document in your app map all the functionality of every view. It makes it easier to look at and understand. It’s great that you thought through so many details, but the visual complexity of your map makes it feel like your idea hasn’t been thought through clearly.

On 1 Home, I don’t think that you need to provide two different views of your content. Pick which you think helps your users the best. Also, there’s nothing to go back to from this view. We spoke about this in class too, but if you tap on search/filter do they take you to the same view or different views. If they’re different, you don’t need search on top of your filers (6 Search).

On 2 Specific Food (I’d call this the Recipe Detail), is the add comment button anchored to the bottom of the view or do you have to scroll thru all the reviews to add my own? Why is there a search bar on this view?

When leaving 2-2, it’d be great to not only see the check mark, but also see my review now in the list of reviews.

I doubt 3 My Account needs so much complexity. Tutorial, help, and maybe ‘remind videos’ can be removed.

How do you make the process of adding instruction as easy as possible on 8 Upload video? Is a full video necessary? How do you help your users capture the necessary parts? What are the undo/redo buttons doing here? Likewise, how do make entering steps, ingredients, etc. easy? Right now it’s not clear how to add an additional ingredient/step.

How do you let people use the app without sign up? When do you prompt them to make it worth their while?
