  1. It’s great to have a user flow chart, but it will help you have a better and more organized app if you also create an app map. You should create one even as yo are moving to your design iteration.

Like we talked about in class, you need to more clearly define what you’re doing for your user. The problem that you’re solving is unclear. Restaurants with lines around them don’t take reservations and don’t even put names on a list. How would your system allow some people to use something else and others still be on line? You’re going to have get either complete consumer buy in or get restaurant buy in. At very least you should clarify about either providing a way to get into restaurants that either don’t take reservations or are providing a reservation system for restaurants. Because making a reservation is so explored by OpenTable, I’d suggest focusing on the other problem.

In any case, you shouldn’t force user to sign up until you’ve proven to them why they should. In your case, you can show restaurants and their waits and only if someone wants to get on line, require them to sign up. Or maybe you can even get away without a full sign up.

On your Search view, if you are going to do things nearby, or anything location based, you should consider at least also having, if not leading with, a map view. Your filter list options are also much too small to touch. Ah, or maybe I was misunderstanding your intention. Does the “filter” list change the search interface? There’s a much clearer and more standard way to organize those options. Look at the way most folks out there are doing location based search, such as Yelp, Foursquare, or even Apple/Google Maps.

By capacity, do you mean available seat right now or total available seats at a restaurant? Available seats might be a clearer way to talk about that.

I’m not sure what the difference is between “Restline” and “Make a Reservation” on your Restaurant Detail view.

There seems to be a ton of features under the profile more features, but I’m not sure what’s actually necessary or what most of those do.
