  1. In your design statement, you say that this is a website, but that should say that it’s an app.

Your app map feels a bit overwhelming at first glance. Even if you have all the views in there, it’d be worth laying out your app map in a more organized manner so that it’s easy to understand. If you’re using OmniGraffle, use orthogonal lines instead of direct lines to connect the views. It’s also confusing why there are some arrows in some cases and not in others. Also, please label your individual wires with the same numbers that you use on your app map. That way you can easily reference where in the flow you are when looking at a particular view.

I wouldn’t assume that you need on boarding at this point. Design out the rest of your app, and let’s see if on boarding would be helpful in positioning your app to your user.

Would it be possible for me to see creations and challenges without signing up for an account? If so, it would show the value of your app and get more people to engage. Then, when they are into the idea more fully (want to vote, want to post), ask them to sign up.

We spoke about this in class, but it seems like you could combine the challenges and other people’s creations. Why can’t I just see the creations of others in context of an ongoing challenge. If you expand the overview of a challenge to show other people’s entries, it may encourage others to enter and vote as well. Instead of just buttons, why not have an entire page dedicated to the information of what the challenge is and show the creations of others there.

We also spoke about this in class, but how can you integrate the basics of how to create something into the challenge. Do you say that you have to use a particular dough and icing, but the decoration is up to you, and give the recipe for the dough and icing? Perhaps there are canned additional tips that cross challenges that you can link to, but core things should feel a part of that challenge.

How do you actually submit your entry? Do you just take a picture? A series of pictures? A description? How does the design of the app make it easier for someone to participate and make their creations look fun and beautiful?

How do you get lots of people viewing and liking? What happens when you win? How do you show off your win when participating in other challenges?

Also, why is there a hamburger menu? What’s under that area, and why isn’t in a tab bar or other parts of the app?
