Prototype II

Based on the feedback from last week, several classmates suggested to reconsider the way in which cards are presented in the main view. In the second prototype, I took one of the suggestions to provide the user an overview of the previous and next card so the user can intuitively understand that he/she must slide in order to view the list.

Because of the nature of my app, I decided to not include as much text as possible. Therefore, I used icons to give the user a hint onto what to do to view details of the card. Again, the same method was employed in the detailed restaurant card. The user can now click either the X icon to go back or the Heart icon to continue to the address view.

The feedback on the address view was that the direction rose was a confusing way to indicate address. Many users believed that despite being drunk, they would still be able to follow directions given in Google Map form. Therefore, I chose to replace the screen with Google Map. If the user were to not be able to read things clearly, he/she can still tap the Microphone button to hear audio instructions.

  1. It’d be helpful to see an app map with every iteration that you post. It will help you make sure that your work is organized, and it’ll help me be able to refer to particular view by number. Both of those counts will also be easier if you label your individual view wireframes with the same numbers that are in your app map.

In your user testing, make sure to base changes more off of what users do versus what your testers tell you that they’d like to see. So making changes to the card views is fine, but are you changing things because they said to or because when they were testing they weren’t doing what you expected?

Make sure and use “tap” instead of “click.”

Remind me, are the images of food a particular dish that I can eat or a category of food, for example pasta?

The move to using a map interface makes sense, but you’ll be putting your own map interface into your app or do you mean that you’ll kick the user out to google maps or apple maps for directions? Because you included the audio, I wasn’t sure.

Why the audio? It’d be nice to have you continue to keep your user in mind and help them through the entire process from not knowing what to eat to getting to the restaurant.
