Prototype 3 visuals + interactive

I shifted my idea to an app for food diary, and it will recommend closed restaurants based on what types of food you ate before.

I got many feedback from my last prototype, for example, people do not like “shake” feature, so I change it to use “swipe” to look at recommended food. They also think that showing closed restaurants on map is unnecessary, so I choose to only show one image of a dish per swipe. The location will show up only when the user is interested and tab on to see more information about the dish.

  1. Hi Yue,

I think you may want to create a complete digital prototype for the final presentation this week. This one makes me a little confused, I think partly because you haven’t created enough hotspots and real contents for users to tap and use. (And also, it looks like your marvel prototype and your pdf are very different, so I don’t know which should I comment based on.)

Please use consistent photos in your prototype. If I tap on the photo of “Yogurt Snow”, the detailed view should be about “Yogurt Snow”. And for the navigation bar of the detailed view, I think you can have the two icons smaller(but you can have big hotspots for users to tap). You may also want to adjust the thickness of the outline, especially the heart looks much bigger than the back icon, even bigger than the title. I am not sure why you are using the date as the title here.

And why “my” profile is on this view? You should use a different one.

Is Florian the name of the restaurant? You can test with your users if they know that, and also, what kind of restaurant information would they want, like opening hours, phone numbers….

    Add image view:
The save button looks a little old? I think the check mark or “finish” could work. For this part, it would be more considerate and professional if you can show two views. One, without the real content, but the hint you give to the users as a designer. Like “Please write about your dish””Title”. The other one, you can put the contents like now to show how the view would look like after users inputting the contents. The reason I suggest this way is that I am not clear about the paragraph with a blue bar on the left. If it is about the information of the restaurant, why I am describing the restaurant first, and then I input its name? Also, how much text are your users willing to type in your scenario? Are they doing this at home or at the restaurant? The reason they are doing this is because they want to keep a track on what food they eat or they want to share the moment with their friends? Please think about these questions and think deep about your users’ need, their expectation, and their using scenarios. I can see you are not very clear through this view. Also, the title and the two paragraphs are not aligned properly. I am also a little confused about the add button. Can I add more photos to it? Or I can add more photos and also paragraphs?

Because of my absence to your presentation last week, my sincere apologies, many thoughts here may be wrong. But I think this is also a good chance for you to see how your users might think when they are using your app without any introductions. If you want to discuss your app with me, or if you are not clear about what I mean, you can reach out to me through my email and my weChat.

    P.S
To be honest, it actually takes me a long time to figure out who Alyssa is, because I thought she was the blogger of “Yogurt Snow”. Below is what I wrote according to that, you can see how I am confused, and those silly thoughts maybe can give you some insights…

“The first thing makes me confused is that I am not sure who Alyssa Piperis is. Is she myself? Or is she the “only” blogger I am following? The reason I am confusing is that when I swipe or change views, she is the only one that keeps appearing.

If she is the blogger I am following, please use more a few more profiles to indicate that. And why her profile is on the diary I just edited?(the last page of your pdf, and your 6/8 marvel vier” swipe liked”) If she is me, then all those posts are my food diaries, then why can I “like” my post?

Okay, I suppose she is the one that I am following. …….”
